What do you do with degrees in biochemistry and information systems? What's the next career step after programming, management consulting, and selling books to niche markets? Why write children's books, of course!

I write in many different genres, from picture books to middle grade novels, poetry to non-fiction articles. And I love them all. I couldn't imagine having to restrict myself to one genre.

I relish the challenge of picture books--telling a complete story in a limited number of words. I connect with the characters in my middle grade novels and immerse myself in their world. I play with rhyme and meter and words in my poetry. And I enjoy interviewing people and doing the research for non-fiction articles.

I am the assistant regional advisor for NJ SCBWI. I maintain the website for NJ SCBWI and also for Women Who Write. In addition, I am the production manager and layout designer for the Women Who Write literary magazine, Goldfinch, and their newsletter, Writers' Notes.

When I'm not writing, I make my living by selling books in niche markets (Blue Tree Books and Families Joined by Love). I also build and maintain websites.

I live in Ringoes, NJ with my husband and entirely too many cats (three!). I have two grown daughters, who live in Massachusetts and Oregon.
